Finnish Defence Forces International Centre's Anniversary and The Grand Opening Ceremony took place on 24 October 2008 in Tuusula in FINCENT's new premises. The celebration included a seminar ‘Future Challenges in Crisis Management' and the launch of  FINCENT publication series volume one by M.Soc.Sc Oskari Eronen.

Colonel Mauri Koskela, Commandant of FINCENT opened the seminar. Col Willem van Dullemen, Chief Current Military Operations Service/UN presented the concept of "UN - key factor in peace making and peace keeping" and Brigadier General  Esa Pulkkinen, Chief of Operations Division/EUMS continued with the topic "EU concept in crisis management". Colonel James Tabak, Commandant of the NATO School shared his views on "Training for peace support operations".

"Comprehensive approach in peace making" was presented by Executive director Kalle Liesinen from Crisis Management Initiative. "Civilian crisis management and Peace Building - A quest for means and Ends in Comprehensive Crisis Management" followed by Director Ari Kerkkänen from Crisis Management Centre Finland.
