The Crisis Management Centre (CMC Finland) and the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT), which together form The Finnish Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management, conducted a Human Security Course at FINCENT in Tuusula, Finland, 21-23 April 2009.
The course familiarized students with the concept of human security and its application in crisis management. Afghanistan was used as a case study for applying the principles of human security in practice.
Participants were either Finnish or foreign military specialists who worked for international organizations in Afghanistan or were planning to apply for a posting.
Within the framework of the Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management, CMC Finland and FINCENT offer the following courses every year: the Human Security Course and the Integrated Crisis Management Course.
