ICM 2009

    

The Finnish Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management organizes the second Integrated Crisis Management -course in Tuusula, Finland, on 5 - 9 October 2009. The course comprises of 25 participants from seven African and European countries representing the fields of humanitarian aid, development cooperation, military and civilian crisis management.

The overall purpose of the course is to enhance knowledge and understanding of the integrated crisis management approach and to enhance collaboration and coordination among the various actors in a crisis or conflict area. The course focuses on crisis management and peacebuilding in the context of Africa through case studies. The course also addresses the United Nations, African Union and European Union crisis management concepts and conflict management frameworks.

The Finnish Centre of Expertise in Comprehensive Crisis Management was jointly founded by the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT) and the Crisis Management Centre (CMC) Finland in 2008. The core task of the Centre of Expertise is to promote understanding of comprehensiveness of crisis management and peacebuilding with training, research and publishing activities.
